May 25, 2007

This morning I played Ramp-and-Shelf with my brother Bo (melan Savannah). You can see I'm growing stronger and more confident daily. Heck, I'm 4 months old now. I bet I could do this stuff with my eyes closed.

After dinner, I watched my brother Zulu (Snow Savannah) play Bug-in-the-Newspaper.

Auntie Sam (Jungle Cat Hybrid) and Auntie Aisha (Bengal) stood guard while I feasted. I feel so protected. The chow was pretty good too. My favorites are chicken hearts and already-been-started drumsticks - the marrow is delicious.

Mommy said she was fascinated with the angles in this shot.
She wanted me to post it.

Mommy and I went for a little walk in the yard.

May 21, 2007
Settled down with my Great Aunt Marika (Bagral, 50% Fishing Cat) on a shelf in the front patio.

The day became so hot Mari left.

I was too limp from the heat to try the ramp. So Mommy had to help me down.

Ate my first raw chicken drumstick. Not bad, not bad at all.

May 20, 2007
Spent all morning rough-housing with Auntie Sam and Auntie Aisha. Auntie Aisha is an F1 Bengal.

May 15, 2002
I met my sweet Cousin Feather, a fluffy Desert Lynx. I bit him on the ear and made him cry. I met no-nonsense Uncle Greggie too. He's a pretty hefty F2 Marble Savannah. Left his ear alone.

What a day! Played all morning with Auntie Sam, a 75% Jungle Cat hybrid, nibbled on palms in the patio, & watched rain fall on a clear plastic roof.

Mommy says that I'm really stretching out.
She even thinks I've put on a couple of pounds since I came home.

Look how I've grown. Here I am with my favorite turtle pillow. It's so much fun to hide things under--things like my feather wand, and my furry mousie.

Here I am at 13 weeks. I came home night before last and does it feel good lying here upside down in my red play cube.

Several days before my arrival, Mommy saw a peacock on our roof. She had never seen one so close to our house and was amazed when she saw the big bird walking up the street, stop at the house and fly onto the roof. Mommy ran inside for her camera and sent the photo to her special friend.

Her friend wrote back:
I immediately saw this as a sign heralding Khalil's arrival. The peacock is rich in mystical symbolism and past life connections (yours and Khalil's) are associated with this bird. The peacock is a powerful symbol of protection. It is also a symbol of resurrection and resembles the phoenix in traditional descriptions. It is associated with wisdom, and vision. The markings on Khalil's forehead remind me of a bird with outstretched wings and long feathered tail.
